Would love a white one but will happily stick with the black one I've reserved.

Spoke with Apple MK earlier (twice), they told me they will have enough stock for all pre orders & limited stock for walk in customers.
There will be 2 cue's before opening (pre ordered customers & walk ins)
The Apple rep I spoke with said at 6am on the iPad launch they had 30 customers waiting and expect 3 times as many if not more for the iPhone 4 launch. They obviously opened up the centre early.
He recommended I get there for 5am! to be in a chance of getting one as they will be selling them SIM Free, with a contract & upgrades.
I haven't pre-ordered one so am going to get there for 4ish. They expect some people to cue over night!
Any one know any different, let me know!
I would recommend it to as they will be like gold dust in the next week!
Also if your looking to get a microsim, O2 have a limited supply coming in, so if your local o2 store will let you, I would get one ASAP! local in Northampton said I can pick one up tomorrow (22/06)

I would go and pick up a MicroSim, but switching from O2 to Orange so don't think i'll be able to get one :(
However might resort to hacking up my O2 sim so I can use my new phone until the Orange servers have stopped melting and can port my number across haha

I've reserved my iphone at the mk store,
but i reli want a white one!!
I was planning on getting there for around 7, but by the sounds of it there will already be a queue and possibly a long one at that (thats wat she said haha)
so am now considering maybe just not going bed and staying up and driving over to MK maybe around half 4 (in the morning) see whats happening and if its busy just queuing and if not just sitting in my car till i see people.
Damn im excited!

I'm not sure how their stock will be after reservations (I didn't realise I could do that), but I've come off the phone just now and they are saying they will be operating a queueing system tomorrow morning with non-reservations being able to purchase from 9:30.
I now wonder what the chances are of me being able to pick one up without a reservation.

I'm still trying to decide whether to head for MK or Brent Cross. As I haven't reserved a phone I wonder where I'll have the best chance of getting one? Wherever I go, I'll get there about 8.30-9am. Any comments from anyone, especially those with previous experiences?

I called Midsummers Place the other day and they said they'll be open all night!
So luckily I've reserved mine and all I have to do is appear at about 7am as I need to get in then out quickly so I can go back to work :(

Midsummers Place isn't actually closed in.
Granted, some of the entrance doors may be locked at night but there are also entrances that don't have doors (near where it joins the main shopping centre).
Just go in and start queuing outside the apple store itself.

Check out the floorplan PDF at http://www.midsummerplace.co.uk/forShoppers/storeGuide/floorPlan.asp
The big doors opposite the cinema that you mention are to the left of ZARA.
The entrance without doors is to the right of ZARA.

I'm gonna go down for 9am, if there's a massive queue I'll leave. Not that desperate to get one.

cheers matey, as soon as i replied last time, i had worked out where you meant.
What time is everyone getting there??
im probably gonna aim to get there for 6ish.
also how are people buying it? im stuck between a contract with vodafone or buying it unlocked for £599 (32gb)
i just cant justify to myself spending all that cash in one go.
hmmmmm decisions.

just got back from an awesome event, i was roughly 18th in line in the reserved iphone queue. and it was chaotic, it didnt help that it was taking apple staff forever to serve customers, not that i blame them, i was having a really good time munching on muffins and drinking coffee galore!
everyone else enjoy it??
i thought the service was great and the way they greet you is what sets apple apart from any other kind of product launch event.
Hows everyone with their phones? liking em??

So it took about 4 hours for them to serve 18 people in the reserved queue???
I got there at around 8. by 830, I had moved 3 feet (aside from them moving the ENTIRE queue at one point) and decided I would come to work and try again later.
I'm going to go back around 4pm and see how it's looking.
Were the queues still all the way back to GAP when you guys left?

Got there at 7:15am, in the Purchase queue, left at 3pm with two 16GB iphone 4s! Wow, that took forever to go through and there were still more to serve!
It looks like they had a number of problemswith setting up contracts etc. which delayed the start.
But now happy setting up my new iphone 4! ;-)

well i walked out with my iphone at around half 9. and i went to do some shopping in the centre. and i was walking back to my car at around midday-ish, and the queue was still heavily long, just passing the abercrombie shop.
Full respect to the guys at the back, i would of looked at that queue seen how slow it was going and woulda gone back home. just glad i went early.

here's what happened
got there at 6am - there was no line but they had the belts blocking the way placed before the puma store so you couldn't get past and they also blocked it from the other way at the panasonic store
a guard told me while he was removing the belts that there was loads of stock in and there was only 10 people yesterday (not sure what time though) so i waited
walked around for a bit and another guard came up to me and said if your waiting for the new iphone the apple staff have told us they have none left. I just went home after this so don't really know if he was telling the truth or the other guard was but i didn't wait to find out as i had to go work at 3pm and was tired.
Im ringing both MK & cambridge apple store to see if they have in stock then just jet it down to either store if they do.
I will update again tomorow afternoon

I arrived 10 minutes before opening. Once they opened I asked about stock and they said they're out and offered to put me on a priority list. They said more might arrive sometime next week...
This new iPhone is proving to be very elusive!
On another note, got to play around with the iPhones and tested out FaceTime, was really cool. Also, I tried cupping the lower antenna to see whether any of them had any reception issues, and surprisingly almost all of the iPhones' signal bars dropped when the left bottom of the iPhone was touched.
