Hi all,

I have just ordered my first mac! I have an older big screen tv that is HD Ready. I have HD hooked up from directv via component cables. I was wondering if this cable will work with the mini to be able to hook it up to that tv?

I dont plan on always having the mini hooked up to that tv (Main hookup is a 32 LCD HDTV) , just once and a while.

Thanks for the help!

HDMI transfers video in a digital format while component does so in an analog.

I expect that cable uses a proprietary adapter on the PS3 end and has the PS3 due to the digital-to-analog conversion before sending it to the cable.

I doubt that cable will work. Although it is actually hdmi on one end, I think the ps3 outputs analog video on a few of the pins in a nonstandard way that the mac min doesn't.
