Anyone going to the apple store there wednesday night? i was thinking of going to an AT&T store around UCF, but i'm hearing apple stores are the way to go.

I am not 100% sure were the line will be but I did some research on it and I found an article written for the 3gs launch that said "The Altamonte Mall says its doors will open at 6:45 a.m. and people can line up outside the mall entrance near Sears and the Elephant Bar before that." I don't go to that mall very often but if I am not mistaken that is the closest entrance to the apple store.

looks like i will for sure be going there since AT&T won't have any. i'm on the phone with them right now to make sure they will have some and figure out exactly when i can head over there. i will let you all know. anyone for sure planning on being there really early?

I plan on being there around 10pm or so. I am hoping at that time there wont be too many people in line so my chances of getting one is pretty good!

So I think that since there's a "Limit 2 per person" you and your wife should be fine with your 1 reservation. ;)

worth a shot, but from when i talked to the guy there to verify my reservation was still there he said that if we got there early (inline) maybe we could get two, i assume he ment walk up for the 2nd

This is my first time getting in line for an Apple product. I feel a little silly, but what the heck, I have to do this stuff at least once in a lifetime :) Hope the wait is not too long.

i went to the mall and spoke with apple and security. Security says the mall doors will open at 6am. No one will be allowed to line up outside until 5:45. If anyone sees anything different please post here and let us know.

the line was absolutely ridiculous. i was probably roughly 90th in line and just left after we found out they were letting in 10 people in the non-preorder line per hour. at that rate, i would've been there for at least 5 + hours. insane.

i'll be at an AT&T store monday night to get one there.

Altamonte mall should have organized this better. They should have let everyone line up by the door instead of having everyone make a mad dash to the store to queue up. I consider myself lucky to be out of there with an iPhone at 9:30am. Oh yeah, that mall cop was a douche.

My daughter's camp commander got out there by 9 apparently, I just emailed him the picture to see if he is in it! LOL!!

I don't do unorganized well.... i think an Apple Product launch at one of the 3 stores around here would drive me crazy.... i'll let you guys do it and stick with my preorders!

When I left the store around 9:30, the line for the walk in customers wrapped from the store to JC Penney and halfway back. So I would think those people would be getting an iPhone, but the store is letting them in at a slow pace. Expect to be there for hours if you plan on joining the queue.

Seriously? The one that the guy in the yellow shirt was appearing to point his thumb out? LOL, how ironic that is where i paused EyeTV! I can't believe he actually said that!

The ONE TIME i've been to that mall, about 4 months after moving to FL, a BRAWL broke out at the food court. Those heavy chairs were flying around even.... i was scared and convinced i'd dumped into a really really bad area of town. I've never been back! :p But facial recognition would have been helpful at that time!

Still crazy long line here in Altamonte. Apple Store Rep says they will be open until at least midnight tonight. If you have a reservation, then you are guaranteed a phone today.

No idea since it is just one long line. Store employee has been verifying reservations for everyone. Doesn't seem like many walk-ins here. Doubt they would have any luck considering how busy it is. Been here 1 hour and only moved about 20 feet.

8:00am - arrived and waited for 45 mins, moved 5ft, left after I realized with the 300 people ahead of me that I was in for the long haul. Why did I hang around for 45 mins? Well, I met a couple cool guys that I chatted with, always nice meeting new people with similar interests. Photo included from that time, I thought the DISPICABLE poster was sort of fitting...:)

6:00pm - arrived with about 200 or so people ahead of me. At 9:00pm there were 26 people, approx, in front of me that kept me from getting my iPhone tonight. Everyone there tonight was issued a claim ticket and guaranteed an iPhone was reserved for them for pickup tomorrow. Met three more nice people, the 3 hour wait was worth meeting said people.

I do agree that the structure of the lines were ****ING RIDICULOUS!!! There was no rhyme or reason in the AM, the line snaked all over the place and it would have been easy for tons of people to just cut in front of someone. Late in the evening at 6:00pm when I got there it was one large line that was more manageable.

Total wait time today: 3 hours 45 mins approx.

All in all I met six nice people today...but no iPhone!:(

PS One of the Apple employees that came around to update us said that there were two people who were waiting in line for a 3GS phone, isn't that a bit odd?

I went to the mall today at around 9:30am. There were about 30-40 people in the walk-in line. I was the only one in the reservation line. I waited about 5 mins, the manager that was making all the announcements yesterday came up to me and asked me a few questions and was extremely happy that I came back and apologetic for the wait I had on Thursday. For only having waited yesterday for 3 hours 45mins I thought I was one of the lucky ones.

Two Apple employees rolled out a bev/snack cart and handed out water and Chick-Fil-A snacks to people waiting in the walk-in line.

I was greeted by another Apple employee who walked me in ahead of everyone in the walk-in line and brought me my iPhone and transferred my line to the new iPhone.

I left happy...:)

Only the people currently in line with a ticket will get phones at this point. Just FYI.
