Is there a way to confirm your iPhone is unlocked without putting another sim in

I recently had my iphone 3GS unlocked by my carrier (O2UK) as i plan to sell it. However I dont have a non O2 sim lying about to confirm that it has been unlocked. Is there a way I can check it to confirm that it is unlocked?
