Hi! My friend offers me his iMac 24" and its part number is Z0FH0LL/A. I havent found any info on that machine in the web. My friend gave me some specs:
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB (2x1GB) RAM
500GB Hard Drive, SuperDrive
nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS
24" Glossy Widescreen Display

Here is the picture of the box:

The questions are:
- what type of LCD does this machine have? Is it S-IPS or TN?
- when was it produced?

Thanks a lot for your help!

1. It's IPS

2. It came in April 2008 so between that and March 2009

Thanks a lot. Now one more question. I have read a lot of threads where people say that 8800GS video chip fails too often. Is it true? Problem is that Apple warranty on this iMac has expired, so I`m a bit frightened.

It has had some issues but nothing too extraordinary I think. 8600M GT is the chip that fails a lot, 8800 GS should be okay

Before you buy that machine you might want to boot it up and check the system profiler if those specs are correct.

The specs line up with a early 2008 Alu iMac 24" however that model came with OSX Leopard installed.

The mid 2007 Alu iMac 24" has different specs but came with OSX Tiger which is what you see on the box.

World of difference, see this wikipedia article too:
