View Full Version : Slow Bootup on brand new 27" iMac

When my iMac is up an running it's very fast and has no issues. But if I shut it down and then bring it back up it takes 40+ seconds to see the spinning apple icon thing but then it get's to the username/pwd screen about 10 seconds later, which seems good. So why is it taking 40+ seconds to get to the spinning apple? Is everyone seeing this delay?

System Preferences -> Startup disk -> Select your OS X disk -> Reboot

That's pretty common issue. It's weird that the OS X disk isn't the default boot option though
