Hi,

I would like to introduce Dashometer to MacRumors readers.

An elegant, intelligent, and multi-tasking GPS car dashboard, speedometer, and navigation tool -- for use when walking, jogging, cycling or driving.

http://itunes.apple.com/app/dashometer/id361241002?mt=8

You can see navigation-related information in an elegant dashboard-like display, and simply tap to customise the displayed values and units.

Multitasking is fully supported and Dashometer works perfectly in the background -- even when the screen is locked.

Use the Proximity Alarm to help escape from zombies, or simply to find a previously bookmarked location! The Slow Speed alert is great for cyclists who want to maintain a certain minimum speed.

Use iPhone VoiceOver technology (enabled in iPhone Settings menu) to read the screen contents out loud, with full support for everything shown on the main display.

- Ian

Hi!

Compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. Requires iOS 4.1 or later.

In other words built-in GPS is the only requirement. (An internet connection is needed to display maps.)

Hello!

Version 2.9 is now live. This primarily adds support for longer countdown-time periods (up to 99 hours), but there were also a couple of iOS 5 fixes.

Enjoy :)
