Lately Ive started having an annoying problem which hasnot ever happened before. On both my macs, Ill go to a web site and get an error message saying the site isn't responding. Then I'll click on the site again and it will work. This has occurred across browsers and computers. Doesn't seem to matter whether I type the web site or click on a link and the error message seems to pop up almost immediately.

Anyone know whats goin on here?

There's so many people on the 'net nowadays that when two or more people attempt to access a page, it may appear to be unavailable.

REMEMBER: when you access a page, your browser is making the equivalent of a telephone call to the site, every piccie on said site, and anything else that needs to be loaded into your browser for you to interact with the site. Two or more calls at once will result in a slowdown -- or something akin to a busy signal.

I get that sometimes after I wake the computer up from sleep and try to connect. Seems to take a few seconds to get my wireless connection going. So, how do you connect? Dial-up/broadband/wireless etc?

No way, this started happeneing last week. Thats definitely not it, if it was once or twice then Id agree but all the sudden happeneing to almost every site I go to just last week??? No way bro.

As for the person that said "maybe its not ur mac, but its ur router that can't find it." I agree, otherwise why would it happene to my iBook as well or any browser that I use? I tried rebooting my Airport Express, I dont think it made a difference.

As for this quote "I get that sometimes after I wake the computer up from sleep and try to connect. Seems to take a few seconds to get my wireless connection going. So, how do you connect? Dial-up/broadband/wireless etc?"
That can't be my problem. This is sometimes after 2 hours of using my computer. I know what problem youre referring too and this isnt it.

I've had the same problem too with my iBook. It seems like it does it on every other page that I try to open. I've been using the same set up for a couple of months now (Airport Extreme base station), and the problem just started a couple of days ago. Haven't figured out the cause yet though.

Yeah exactly...it seems to be every other page. I have since rebooted my cable modem and airport and it seems to be ok so far but since its inconsistent to begin with its hard to tell....

Ok, so I spent half an hour on the phone with Apple. I factory restored the Airport express, rebooted everything till I puked, reset up the express, uninstalled everything yadda yadda......fixed NOTHING! I still have the same problem. So I have to call tomorro w to talk to a hardware specialist. sheez.....

i doubt it's hardware related... i think it's a bug in OS X.. as i've had it and numerous others have had the problem.. mine isn't as frequent as yours though.. just happens once in a great while

Yeah... ever since the 10.3.5 update I've been having some major issues, including a big crash on my G4.

i remember reading that this started happening to folks after the 9/30 security update... that's why i haven't installed it yet...
if you think it is the airport express, just pull it out of your network and plug the computer straight into the wall/modem (if your network permits)
