Some of you may remember hearing about my iMac G5 problems and that I finally ended up sending it back (it arrived there today) and am waiting for them to send me a new one. Well, after I had made that call to get a new computer I called back to tell my Product Specialist how I appreciated his help and ask if it would be possible to have a memory upgrade for all of my trouble. Well, I just got his voice mail and left a message. Then....

This morning the FedEx man comes to the door with a tiny package in his hands and I'm thinking, "What did my wife order now!" Well, it is a 512 mb RAM stick from Apple. I left that message on Monday morning and received the RAM today!! That makes me feel pretty good about Apple. Now if they can just get me my replacement computer I'll be good to go I PRAY (I'm a little fearful of what I will get).

P.S. I want to have a total of 1 GB RAM in my iMac, so I was wondering if anyone wants to do a RAM switch Apple RAM for ZipZoomFly RAM or something like that. You know what I mean if you are interested in the swap.

i remember your other thread...

im glad to hear that apple is taking care of you, you got the free ram thats a plus, and you should get you new imac in a few days time i would think

hopefully the new one will work out good and all too

Good to hear. I am sure that your approach helped out a lot (didn't see your other thread).

In some ways it would have been helpful to have just posted to your original thread.

Sorry...

Sorry, I should have just posted it there, but I didn't think of it. Basically I have the same fan noise problem that everyone else is having. Although, I'm getting my computer replaced unlike some other people.

That's great to hear. I'm happy Apple took care of you.

For the rest of us, will you pray please? 😀 This is the most frustrating part about having the noise issue: it entirely depends on the whim of the Product Specialist you get. Some of us aren't getting anywhere. (Yes, I've been very polite and thank him for his time.)

Call the guy and get his email address and his supervisors and send a nice letter. Sounds like he earned it.

I did call him and thank him! That's a great idea to contact his supervisors because he was pretty helpful even if I really had to force my case a little.
