Hi - can someone please tell me if the following readings are normal for an iMac. Seriously around the top and sides it feels so hot I couldn't hold my hands on it for long and it's throwing out some serious heat.

They look fine to me, I'd only start worrying if they get in the 95-100º area.

Those temps look fine to me. My 20" AL iMac runs hotter then that. If you still think it's too hot try looking into smcFanControl.

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. That is why it feels hot.

Those temps would only be normal if you've left your iMac on to encode video/record video for quite a while. You normally don't want the hd to be above 55-60c.
Idle temps for an iMac should be in 40s for hd and cpu, and the 50s for gpu, with all 3 fans at base rpm (940cpu, 1100 hd and 1000 gpu)
