Why is my classic 6th gen always charging? i try turning it off, but i just get the full screen charging icon, when its not even plugged in!

Have tried loads of restores and resets, and everytime i just keep getting the ipod telling me its plugged in so i cant turn it off :mad:

any help greatly appreciated :D
