u have just asked this in your other thread entitled "linux is better than os x". i have replied there.
you only need one thread. i have noticed that you have created several threads and then asked the same questions in each

from apple.com
Made from ultratough polycarbonate plastic — the same high-grade material used in bulletproof glass — the iBook’s sleek white case resists impact. While that measure alone might have allowed iBook to comfortably survive everyday use and abuse, Apple engineers took the idea of protecting your investment quite seriously. Inside, a sturdy magnesium frame provides superior strength, while reducing the weight of the iBook G4 to well below that of other full-featured PC notebooks. (1) Rubber mounted for added bump tolerance, the iBook’s hard disk drive lets you store all of your digital goodies and still enjoy peace of mind.

it seems like all of these threads are always in the wrong categories ...Yes, but atif.muhammad isn't allowed to post directly into the wasteland.
Of course we shouldn't really worry, the threads he starts will usually be moved to the proper wasteland subcategory sooner or later.

The iBook is more rugged than the powerbook.

You have posted several threads the last couple of days, many of your qustions can already be found several places in the forum, ESPECIALLY ibook vs powerbook threads...

The ibook is tough but it doesnt have something like the IBM laptops have, that senses fall and stops HD activity.

When you drop a Powerbook, the aluminium shell offers protection by forming a large dent on impact, thus absorbing a great deal of force.
Deformation Shock Absorption.....only from Apple.
