Personally I'd agree - all in one devices are cool, but usually useless. I'm sure one day all in one devices will work well, but at the moment the technology (certainly battery technology) just doesn't seem to be there...

The headline says that they are unimpressed with all-in-one machines, but the article body just tells how they don't care much for portable video. Their are a far broader spectrum of all in one that aren't addressed in the article, so it's possible that Europeans are interested in all-in-one solutions, but simply don't give a rat's hind quarters for portable video.

I'm not impressed with'em either. I don't want my PDA as a phone or my phone playing music or my iPod playing movies. I got three devices each one excellent at what it does, each one about the size of a deck of cards,
one goes down I'm not out of business. They sync rather nicely with PB.
