Apple's official July 2nd iPhone reception issue response

This seems to be in line with what Anandtech found out. Being that yes, bars drop, and yes the placement of the antenna is unfortunately right where a comfortable hold would hit your palm, but the way that the iPhone 4 displays those bars is a terrible representation and in reality the overall sensitivity of the iPhone 4 antenna is better.
