Software issuing the connection kill switch?

So, could the software malfunction be causing the drop calls? Think about it as a safety kill switch. If the phones signal calculator drops all the way it shuts the connection down? Not hardware related at all?
 
Only if the software is somehow telling my Speedtest to drop to a crawl too.

This is an obvious attempt by Apple to mask the damn problem.
