Oh he's a longterm member here that posted like 30 polls and 20 threads in the Community Discussion last weekend. It's just weird when you see more than two threads started up by the same user in a short amount of time. Welcome to the forums.
:p

It's alright. It's good to be curious. God, you should have seen how many newbies showed up in the past few days, it's like these every time Apple's rumored to introduce a new product. Many have gone from newbies to regulars in the past few days. It's amazing how much you can learn in that amount of time. :)

glad to help... but there is lots of speculation and little facts on when the superdrive is going into a powerbook.

I assume as soon as they can they will put one in...but I definitly wouldn't be putting off buying one because it will probably be a year at least.

lots of heat.. lots of power and a small space...

BTW, PIII 667 w/ATI AIW Radeon, Soundblaster Live! 5.1 WinXP Pro.

Hey, how'd you wire it to your HTS? S/PDIF or headphone jacks? Or something completely different?

Mmmmmmmm. Even better. Did you go to their site recently? (well obviuosly to get that link) but have you tried the modified VideoLAN/DVD player w/DD/DTS output? I'm anxious to see how it works. :)

mr doctorteeth,
i have been carousing the midiman site for a little while, but i can't seem to find an easy solution for my easy problem.

i want stereo xlr imputs with manual gain control going in usb/firewire to my powerbook g4 to record sound in osx.

i have very little experience with sound on a computer, i need to do this for use in video on final cut pro 3....

any suggestions?

heh, funny you should say that. I just upgraded to dual monitors last night and it's great! I guess what they say about dual monitors is true: once you go dual, you never go back!! w00t w00t! :)

I've got a Duron 700 (overclocked to 931Mhz) w 512megs of PC2700 DDR RAM, 27Gb of storage, a GF2MX400, an Ati Mach64, and Dual 17" monitors. Yes, it's running XP and no, it's not a mac :-). Don't feel bad edvniow :-).

I do still have an old Duo 2300, LC II, and Duo 230 that I still use for word processing occasionally.

if nervouk had that kind of arrangement on his desk, nervouk would no longer have two hands free to type his posts.
