i'm rehabbing an old imac 333 os 8.6 that has no original discs.
How do i make a startup cd to run first aid utilities (norton, diskwarrior) from?
i find vague instructions online.

what do i put on the disc?
-just the system folder fldr and utilities?
-do they need to be in the same folder?
-do they need specific names?
do i need to name the disc itself anything in particular?
etc.
sorry for being dense
tia

Why not just buy the Mac OS 8.6 CD off eBay? It should be fairly cheap, not more than $30 for the CD. Then you can re-install Mac OS 8.6 and have a clean Mac.

If it has 64MB of RAM then it could even run Mac OS 9. If it has something like 192, or 256MB it can run Mac OS X.3 (Panther) without any trouble at all. My dad runs Mac OS X on a 333 MHz iMac with 256MB of RAM and it runs great.
