"Late 2009" latest ipod classic?

i'm looking to buy the 160gb ipod classic from my friend but she has no idea which gen ipod it is. When i run the serial number at apple.com it said "late 2009" and has warranty until feb 2011.

Is it the latest/ Newest 160gb ipod classic which is 7th gen? or is it old model?

because i remember apple released 160gb old model a while ago also...
