I am not an expert on shoop da woops, but this looks legit to me. I heard the backstory on the picture - it checks out.

Could this be the new Mac Pro we've all been waiting for?

This looks just like a bunch of Mac Minis stacked on top of each other. Clearly a photoshopped craprender. LOL

yep, that checks out with my sources. Probably shouldn't let the cat out but... but what the heck... it has a BTO BR option too. ;)

That's what I was thinking!
But you have to cut the guy some slack. Since it's been over a year since an update, he is having to photoshop it on ancient hardware. :p

Nah, count 'em...17 cores on that mama. Odd number is very un-Apple. :p

It's the new OSX blade server, and each blade is 2 cores... so it's 2x17.

BTW, 2 audio-out ports, 3 USB 3.0 ports, 2 FireWire 800 ports on front. Cheers!

Aqua, like Mac OS X :)

I wouldn't mind 2x Blu-Ray recorders myself. Combine that with some decent backup software (Retrospect) and I have a decent way to bare metal restore critical stuff.

Well, if that's it, then it's equivalent to 17 Mac Mini's which means it's a 34 core beast with 17 Nvidia 320M GPU's, 68 USB ports, and 34x500GB drives in RAID0. With 34 DDR3 RAM slots, it should hopefully put those complaints to rest! However, the value freaks won't be happy that it costs about $17K! :D  :p

WOW! 17 mac minis glued together! Brilliant! This is going to be the best Mac pro ever!! Let's see... 17 mac minis... $699 x 17 = $11883! Hey! That's not bad for a pro machine!

Perfection... :D

Replace the 2x6 pin connectors for 4x8 pin connectors.
Also the raid card would't fit with the hd sleds 5 and 6 installed.

Is the GPU missing? No RAID card or GPU seem to place this machine outside my circle of perfection. (Snicker)

A stackable/swappable computer could actually be pretty kick ass. Think of a lightning fast spinal cord interface connecting all the devices together. Each module housing a specific component of the computer (processor, ram, hard disk, optical drive, video card). Want to add more processors or hard drives? Easy, just stack a new module on top.

Well, not much else to do when their are absolutely zero rumors of any kind about the Mac Pro itself. zero.

...and if everybody does it Macrumors might as well shut up shop. As it will be filled with pointless crap that makes the whole site a bit of a joke.

So you don't put the larger cards in the top two slots! I have other cards that are short and would have no problem.

haha this actually looks pretty nice, although i would prefer the color to stay aluminum. The blu-ray is a good idea too, but it's mostly about OSX supporting it rather than shipping a mac pro with one, because well we could always buy one ourselves and put it in there ;) Also, why 2 headphone jacks?

So no blu-ray because god jobs says so.
Probably no hard drives as we'll be all in the clouds by the time it comes out.
No wireless after all thats what the ipad and iphone are for.
No monitor, that's how it's always come.
No software, why would we need that for when we're in the clouds already.
No graphics card, well it won't come with a monitor so why need a graphics card.
No sound card, all the music companies has stopped us all form listening to anything on line.
No memory, well it comes with nothing so why do we need memory.

My guess is then it will come in a swanky case of glass and carbon fibre for about $5,000.

Oh wait a minute that would cut apples profit. maybe the cardboard box and a little cellophane then.
