If our answer has to be reasonable, so does yours! :D

I'm guessing you didn't get it....
I don't think I've ever managed to get a spectacular gift on any of my birthdays - at least nothing stands out at the moment. So I always shoot low, lessens the disappointment...

Maybe you can shoot for Christmas
For your birthday, how about the new iPod?
Or a digital camera?

If i have to stay within resonable limits:
1. 60 GB photo ipod
2. 1bg ram stick for my powerbook
3. high quality microphone and a m-audio firewire audiophile
oh, that would be a kick**s birthday!

I mean you can't be like I want WORLD PEACE! Or a Hovercar, but a Dual 2.5 is reasonable... just not very likely for your birthday.

For my 15th birthday, I got... hm, let's see... 1998...
Oh, wait, that's it. Badass leather trenchcoat. Certainly not a Powerbook. Crikey. :o

For my 15th birthday, I wanted world peace too, 'cause it was 1970 and I was looking at the draft in a few years and 'Nam was still going strong. Ended the draft in my year '73.
What I got on that birthday is anybody's guess at this point. My learner's driver's license for one I guess and probably some geeky bell bottom pants.

Happy birthday!
I think I'd want a piece of camera equipment, maybe Extensis Portfolio to manage my photos. I'd like world peace, but it comes at too high a price--and all that quiet and harmony!

since i am a perpetual graduate student (never a cheap hobby) and always threatened with new and interesting things that can come up in the home improvement area, i am low on cash so my toys list is rather modest...in order of want, not need, here they are:
1) water reistant aviator's or diver's watch...citizen...around $318-$418 usd
2) gretsch hollowbody guitar, electromatic model...around $700
3) fender telecaster electric guitar...around $650 with gigbag
but more realistically:
1) water resistant fossil watch or swiss army watch...under $100
2) gretsch solidbody guitar, electromatic model...around $425
and let's say i wasn't cash poor, he he, then:
1) vintage omega watch from 1950s or before, leather band...$3000+
2) gretsch "nashville" hollowbody guitar, hardshell case, with tv jones pickups...$3000+
3) 12" inch powerbook with all the ram, warranty, and full compliment of third party software titles...$3000+
the ironic thing is that the cheap swiss army watch, water resistant and quartz, is far more durable and accurate than the 1950's automatic omega watch...but with all the great swiss watches made today, not one company, including omega, can make watches as elegant and functional as they used to...today's watches either fall more into the functional category or the elegant category but cannot, or will not, fall equally into both thus creating a huge market for classic swiss watches for elite collectors
as far as the gretsch guitars ranging from $425 to $3000 dollars, the sound is very consistent and there is very little difference in tones between them and it comes down to prestige, ie) "nashville" and "tv jones" and "brian setzer" patents on a gretsch guitar, more than anything else...as far as looks and sound, the guitars are nearly identical in their overall vibe

It all depends, if your an adult then you have the ability to purchase your own gift. So the only restraint is the budget. There is nothing wrong with dreaming at any age.
Happy 15th B-Day Will Curran. The most important thing is that you can spend time with family and friends. Please let us know what you end up receiving.

If it was my birthday I'd want:
-external FireWire hub
-DVD burner+external enclosure
-blank DVDs
-to actually pass one of my Latin tests :o
Then again.... a simple 'happy birthday' would be sufficient. :)

A lot of you must have rich or generous friends or family. My birthday is not that big as it is January 28 (kinda close to Christmas). I only get cloths and maybe an XBox game (one of the cheaper $25 one.)

So how reasonable do we have to be here? ;)
Ok, seeing how it's been extremely cold lately, how about:
- Furry boots
- Pajamas
- Flannel bedsheets
- Mittens
- Beanie-type hat
- Ear muffs
- 12" Rev A Powerbook :D
And so my new iPod Mini doesn't get cold: iPod socks :)

I want a new ergonomic desk chair for my birthday, but I can't afford a Aeron... I'll probably just get something cheap at Office Depot. My scoliosis will just have to suffer.

My birthday is not that big as it is January 28 (kinda close to Christmas).
Mine's on 27/1 so it's close to Christmas too. Plus the problem is compounded by my brother's birthday the following day
On the plus side, I'm older so I get the more expensive presents :D

My birthday is Jan. 2nd, which normally would be too close to xmas for gifts, except that my brother's bithday is Dec. 7th, Dad's Dec. 20th and sisters Jan. 6th, so it all cancels out.
Most Birthdays I just hope that I won't be ill for the following week from back-to-back debauchery coming from New Years...
other than that, a new Mac would be nice, but pricey. Mostly just being able to have my health and be surrounded by good friends and a good woman who will... since this thread was started by a 15 year-old, I will leave it at that.

i would love the first two and a 20" apple display as number 3.
on that note can anyone think of a decent dv camera that i could get for christmas off my parents? not rediculous, quite a small one, not too expensive. decent, small and not too expensive!

So what DID you get?

Nov 6, 2004, 09:04 AM
My birthday is in April.
But if it were in fact today, I would love to recieve any of the following--
-A Boyfriend
-1GB stick of ram for my iBook
-a new desk from someplace like Ikea, perhaps with a glass-top
-an umbrella
-a new 'enter' key for my iBook...mine broke off (it had some help from a 2 year old...) and it costs $20 to replace...I'm too cheap/poor/lazy to do that right now...
-another apple Pro usb keyboard so I can have one at home and one at work
-a 3-button USB mouse, preferably something nice-looking...anybody know of a 3-button that looks good with a Mac? From what I've found they're all ugly-looking PC-type designs.
I could go on...but I won't.

lets see my 15th Bday what did I want then. It was 6 years ago... A car is out of the question since it not like you can drive it. Honstly dont see a need for ones own computer at age 15.
I think I would of wanted something like an iPod.
Now last year when I turned 21 my gift I got was a 2004 Nissain Sentra Spec-V which I got one month earily while I was home for spring break. now that was a nice gift and something I was wanting.
This year I think I going ot have an iPod on my list. That or some more stuff ot wear. 1. item would be to have a girl friend by thing.

that is a very cool looking bass...very heavy metal looking, indeed
my buddy has metal inspired his b.c. rich warlock with active EMGs at my house...full on scariness and power to back it up...and extra evil with gloss black finish and black chrome hardware
but i prefer more low key shapes like strats, les pauls, etc ;)
