i know these types of hdds are only availible at 320gb~640 gb. but has sata technology improved to make it have faster speeds at increased storage space? or.. is the time of SATA ending

I doubt it's because of SATA, they just haven't been able to produce a drive that can run at 10 000rpm and have capacity of 1TB. VelociRaptors are dead anyway, SSDs win them in speed and 7200rpm win in capacity.

Your dilemma is speed versus quantity.
SSD = sheer speed since it's not a mechanical device.
SATA drives = wins on available quantity but being mechanical are susceptible to the pitfalls of mechanical devices.
