My powerbook G4 (running panther) has an airport card that will connect via ethernet to a d-link router but not wirelessly. I want to be wireless. I can obtain an IP address but can not ping or connect to the router or internet. The Airport gets full signal and says that i am connected. However, there is another wireless network from a netgear router that I can connect to quite easily.
What is the difference?

Please someone help...

WEP mis-config? D-Link on same channel as Netgear?

Have you tried logging into the D-Link and checking what the WLAN settings are?

there is no wep or any mac filters on...
as for the channel i know i was on 6 but i don't know what
the netgear router was set to...

Can anyone else connect to the D-Link, or has it been working before with any other wireless connection?

my boyfriend who has a newer G4 powerbook and newer airport card can use it just fine. also, my pc-using roommate can use it as well.

What IP are you getting? You sure its not a self-assigned one?

usually routers dish out IPs in the form 192.168.x.x, what does yours look like?

the ip address that is automatically given is 192.168.0.100
which i think is a valid number.
my roommate who is the administrator can see my mac address too...
