Is anyone excited about Halo 2?

I know I am. For most of the time of being home today I've been listening to preview tracks from Halo 2's soundtrack: http://halo2.nilerogers.com/H2MultitrackPlayer/H2MultitrackPlayer.htm .. also the weekend of the game (or the next), going to be having a H2 LAN Party!

OH MY GOD!

Battle Rifle rrullleeeeeesssss. First thing that struck me are the crispness of the graphics, and the sounds are just amazing.

More to report as I play more.

A friend and I are running around the Multi player maps as I type this.

Got an XBox just so I could play Halo 2. Does that indicate my level of interest? :)

In the meantime being playing Halo and downloading every Halo 2 movie I come across.

All set for multiplayer and XBox Live, so when it's out "officially" there should be a thread to post gamer tags and organise some matches. Gonna be cool.

very excited... just beat the first halo about a week ago. im not a big gamer, but my friends and i love to play the multiplayer. we used to play unreal tournament in college, now we blow each other up with halo. so much fun.

I seem to be the only one not interested in Halo 2.

Don't get me wrong, I played the first one, and it was okay.

...but it was a very...by the numbers FPS. Shoot stuff, walk, shoot stuff, continue.

Don't get me wrong, I like the XBox (Less than the Gamecube, more than the PS2) but I'm looking forward to Metroid Prime 2 much more.

And Killzone looks rather neat, or at least, more interesting than Halo 2.

I talked my wife into picking up an Xbox bundle for me for Xmas. I'll probably get Halo 2 sooner or later, but I'm far more excited about Prince of Persia 2. The first one rocked even on my PS2, so the 2nd on Xbox should be smokin' good.

I've got my LE tin (+free poster and CD Case) from the midnight opening and just played through the first level, but I have to go sleep now. First impressions are good - it looks great and seems to run well. Duel wielding rocks but I love grenades too much to do it all the time. The SMG duel wielded with a plasma rifle is my fav combo so far, but I really haven't tried the others much yet.

Did the midnight thing here last night for the hell of it. Too busy with projects to play for the next few days but it was fun to go to the lineup. Got some good discounts too; Live Kit half price, Free CD case, 40% of Hint guide (only for maps and multiplayer info, campaign must be discovered not followed).

Watched some multiplayer while we waited, man it rocks!

Same here... I have a xbox and a ps2 "mini" at home, but i like playstation's games more. Looking forward to GT4 now (screenshots here (http://www.gamepro.com/screen_gallery.cfm?product_id=14642&genustext=PS2&family=)) , although the first release will be without online mode (only 2-4 months later)

Our school has a dress code of collared shirts so I can't where a halo 2 shirt, but I was thinking about dressing up in a pressed shirt and pants, and a tie.. and if anyone asked why got one answer for them..."halo 2"

Well also for some reason alot of the seniors get school off today.. I mean they arent skipping...wtf... whole day of halo 2...bummer for the freshman =(

I just bought an XBOX and I can't wait to talk my 7 year old daughter into buying it for me for Thansgiving (I will be very THANKFUL for her GIVING it to me.) Kind of a weird role reversal.

i just went out at lunch and picked up the limited edition for my husband. he's the big game player in our house. i only play once in a while or when he has a game where 2 people can play at once. anyway, i am excited to see his face when he gets home from work tonight and i hand the game to him. or maybe i should open it up and start playing it so he'll see it right away when he walks in the door. at which point i'm sure he'll shove me off the couch, grab the controller, and screen "mine mine mine" at the top of his lungs. um, maybe i'll just hand it to him after all.

If anyone is interested in getting the game, check Best Buy. I was in there today and there was a stack of about 100 of the LE version and about 200 of the "normal" version.

Apparently supply is outstripping demand this time around.

(Misses the days when you could go months without getting a big, new release game, such as Ocarina of Time)

Seriously, I am looking forward to playing the mulitplayer version with my friends at some point, but I'm not going to run out and buy an xBox or the game itself - whenever I have a chance to give it a try, I will, but no rush. I just don't have time to play games much at all anymore in general...

In my opinion (I refuse to use acronyms, lol) the multiplayer is the absolute best part of Halo /2.

The single player is fun and all, but the multiplayer just gives it scads or replay value.

I don't play online, but rather every-other Monday night a group of my friends and
I get together to play. We usually link 2-3 'Boxes and play Rockets, Skull, or CTF.

We've rented other games, but somehow we always come back to Halo and I hope
Halo 2 is just as enjoyable.

I was disappointed that Halo 2's rocket launcher had a homing feature since that
takes some of the skill of 'leading' out of playing with rockets in death match.

Also, the plasma sword is kind of a cheap way to kill, too. No glory....


I've only been able to play 2 for about 2 hours so far, and it's reminding me more and
more of Starship Troopers meets Aliens the more I play it (which is fine, just an observation).


So to answer your question, the greatest part of Halo is linking up, being in the
same room and killing each other. Online is so detached and there's just not
as much glee as when you squeeze off a perfectly aimed rocket into your Sunday
school (it's a college/career class) teacher's grill and here him grumble :D

Im not that excited. Never been a big fan of the XBox (no nintendo games)... always been a Nintendo kinda guy. Grew up with a Nintendo and still love it. The sequel I'm really looking forward to has an 'H' and an 'L' and a '2' in it, but it isnt Halo 2... :rolleyes: :D

Yes, Halo 2 looks amazing, and the soundtrack should be bliss for my ears.

I am going to buy an Xbox just so I can play it! I am so excited, I have a GameCube, but I can only play SSB and Zelda: Wind Waker so many times.

I will forever be a Nintendo junkie, I'll never sell my N64 or GameCube, but.....Xbox, Halo 2, here I come!

Yeah only vehicles, but they do so pretty quick and almost always hit when locked.
