3rd gen ipod 20GB

I have a 3rd gen 20GB ipod that no longer will turn on, even when plugged into USB or AC. Is it garbage or can it be salvaged somehow?

I have the same iPod. At one point, the battery got down to lasting around 10 minutes. That was three years ago. I replaced it and all is well. It's possible that it just needs a new battery. They aren't too expensive, and it might be worth a shot before recycling it.
