I know there are a bunch of people reading this forum that are from france. I was wondering if you guys would tell me what is the most controversial topic there besides the no headwear ban. I would appreciate a french persons opinion.

Today's french controversial news :
- Arrafat's health status.
- The situation in Cote d'ivoire, how french corporations handle security there, will Air-France eventually send more planes there for the evacuation of the french expats. What will the army do next there?
- Internal politics: the ratification of the European constitution, no party can define a clear policy.
- Internal politics 2: will the prime minister last 6 more months
- Internal politics 3: how will the actual finance minister handle the 2005 elections
- Internal politics ad nauseum. Hey, that's France after all :)
- Road security: The ministery of transportation launched a campaign inciting car-drivers to turn their crossing lights on all the time. Big upheaval from the bikers, they fear no one will notice them in traffic anymore.
- Justice: contaminated blood scandal from 1991 resurfaces
- Society: a protester died after being run over by a nuclear train.
hope that helps :)

Maybe you'd like a French person to write it for you. Yes that is Frech with a capital F - probably the mark you'll end up with.

Yes that is Frech with a capital F - probably the mark you'll end up with.Especially if he leaves the "n" out of "French".

Ahhh, we love trying to push posts into the wasteland, don't we? :D
I like to read Le Monde every once in a while...I need to work on my French more though. I watched a spate of Eric Rohmer and Kieslowski's Red and White and Blue, and then I haven't been doing much in French recently... :(

Hey its an oral presentation which i am going to do 100% of the research but i don't want to do on a crummy topic that no french person cares about. Plus its against academic integrity for someone else to do your work.
thank you Palad1 for those links will use em
don't know why this wasn't in my subscribed threads
edit: plus if a french person did my thing its a dead giveaway ;)

Évidemment...
I'd go with the Côte d'Ivoire and the European Constitution. Those two topics get to the heart of how the French see themselves.
