to my mind that's quite a misleading headline! (oh my god - i never thought I'd see the day) but c'mon, the article doesn't really say all that we didn't already know...

...though I dunno why Apple are giving them royalties on the iPod, i'd think it should be the other way round lol!

How much would you pay to get your band it's own customised iPod

BTW, it really annoys me, but BECK WAS THE FIRST ARTIST who embraced the iPod.

He's much more the trendsetter---- the first artist with the special engraving on the iPod with his name, AND the published image of the songs on his iPod in the NYT.

U2 are just followers. ;)

Agreed. U2 has been a follower for the last 15 years. Heck, I don't think I've heard a new song out of them since Joshua Tree.

That being said, I think it's great U2 has embraced Apple/iPod. U2 has a loyal following in both the US and the UK, and Bono is a voice for music, politics, technology, etc. Music labels will salivate at the success of U2 on iTMS and more bands are sure to follow, just as U2 has followed before them. :p

Now, where's my Pink Floyd reunion iPod with lasers?
