you cant do that. i think that is illegal, or at least grounds for apple to make you pay the difference if you have to send it to apple for repairs.

i swear, people love apple so much, but the second they get a chance, they rip apple off.

Then how come your original post specifies that you're looking for a student?

If you're not an educator, you can't get the discount. Yep, I'm with musicpyrite on this.

Working for an Apple Authorized Higher Education Reseller in Canada, it's actually not too much of a ripoff. The educational discounts are based upon the standard price in that country. It's the same discount whether it's the US, Canada, or Brazil. It is patently illegal to access the educational discount when you do not qualify. You do not qualify for the American educational discount.

I think the better solution is for you to quit whining that you're paying an extra $100 for what is clearly a product worth far more than you're paying for it. I deal with this sort of crap on a daily basis. People will walk into my store, and whine about the pricing, when it's $200-300 lower than all but 1 other retailer in the city. Moreover, this is Toronto, and the other retailer is at the other end of the city. And you know what? You think you can just go online because I'm not cutting you a deal, and giving you crap for free? Go nuts, but I still get paid for that transaction. There's nothing I hate more than students who think that everyone should give them a deal. As a close runner up, though, is people who whine and moan when they can't get a superior product at the most reduced price possible.

You guys are right. My apologies. I will go buy a brand new imag g5 tomorrow for the regular US price of $1299 US With 6% Sales Tax MI, 15% PST & GST Ontario Tax at the border and Exchange rate about 1.1934
Which equals $1885 Canadian. The exact same price as my EDU discount in Canada, the difference being I get the Computer tomorrow if its in stock.

Everyone doesnt need to freak. It was a simple question.

Um....the base model iMac, which goes for $1299 US, goes for $1649 Canadian at the educational discount. So, I'm not sure where you were getting your prices.
