Is Apples iTunes remote app supposed to turn on the computer to?

My pc was off and I accidentally pressed the Remote app on my iPhone and it turned on my computer. I double checked and it does indeed turn on my pc! which to me is great as I also have an app that turns my computer off plus VLC remote and Airvideo.
