Aging long hair - heard some Bob Seeger yesterday and tried to grab some of his music for the old iPod. Can't find him on the iTunes music store. Am I crazy, or is his complete catalog missing? And if it is, why would this be? I would think Seeger is one of the pillars of American rock music.

I agree - getting some Seeger on there would be nice - but I don't see it. Guess you could get one of his Greatest Hits CDs and rip it to iTunes.

You mean buy an ACTUAL compact disc? At a retail store? How does one go about doing THAT? Hah.

Can someone explain the economic model of iTunes to me? Why are there so many great artists not stocked in the ITMS store? Beatles? Seeger? Others?

Licensing. Some artists have not given the rights to distibute their music online. This is not Apple's fault as they try to get as much as they can on there and would put these artists on there if they could get the rights.

Ya he has nothing on iTunes music store but even if he did it would be easier to find if you spelled his name correctly. Its BOB SEGER, not seeger. Nor is it seager. ;)

You know - I wondered about that and found various spellings on google, so i tried them all. Thanks.

Why would an artist not license their music to iTunes - it seems like one of the few legit ways to purchase music on-line. There seems to be good protection against fraud and piracy. Oh well -
