White iPhone 4 Different?!

I was on Apple's website and I don't know if you guys noticed this but the white iPhone 4 has like this extra speaker like slit on it's face. What could this be for? I never noticed it before until now.

It's the proximity sensor. Been discussed in the other 25 threads.

I thought it was for the super module that solved the antenna issue...

isnt the front facing camera the ambient light sensor?
thats how it is on macbooks

New...because none of the previous iPhones had proximity/ambient light sensors.

No, on the MacBook and MacBook Pro the ambient light sensor is a little dot next to the camera. It's not the camera itself.

The rows of dots are so the proximity sensor can see through the opaque white glass.
