Mac won't boot to OSX 10?

Hey all, so I recently deleted a bootcamp (Windows) partition from y iMac G5, and now whenever I start up it attempts to boot to the Windows portion, but fails and says that no boot disc could be found, so in order to boot the mac correctly I have to hold down "alt-option". However, my dad doesn't like this solution, and he's getting fed up because he just wanted a simple solution, rather than having to "press buttons". How do I change the mac's settings so the computer boots to Macintosh automatically?

System Preferences -> Startup Disk -> Select OS X disk and click reboot

There is no way it's a G5, I just assume it's one of the white ones that looks like a G5.

You can also do it the way you're doing now, except before clicking or pressing enter on your boot drive with OS X, press the Control Key, and the symbol underneath the drive should change. You can then click on the drive you want and that will be your default startup drive.
