iPod touch Replacing ipod touch 2g front panel - home button doesn't work

Hi all

I bought an ipod with no front glass or LCD, and a replacement LCD and front panel assembly with a home button included. Should it just work when the digitiser is plugged in? The LCD and touch are perfect but I get nothing from the home button.

Thanks for that advice - unfortunately, I tried assembling it and it still doesn't function.

I did try raising the contact but it appears that the top has snapped off - ie the metal strip should be a backwards Z shape but instead it is a backwards C. I've never seen one, so maybe someone can confirm this.

I guess I can try and find something to make the connection, I don't know what yet.
