I was wonderin if anyone here is old enough
to remember the two US Festivals put on by
Apple in the 1980s
The were held in California
I attended the first one with Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne
and the Grateful Dead,
It was a rather good holiday....
I met a sweet lady from France there
Also visited San Francisco
Apple had some of the newer technology
of the day there on the site.
It was somewhat "primative" compared to todays
standards.....
I remember trying out some "electronic" drums....
Twas a memorable event.

Yes now as I recall the Talking Heads were
also there.
It was perhaps evening.....
I recall listening to the music and gazing
up in the sky only to see a blimp (Good Year?)
scrolling "light" messages on its side.
Seemed rather "weird" at the time.
Those were tense days with the Cold War
and all but things have certainly changed.

The interesting thing about the Us Festivals
were they weren't so much festivals or concerts
they were kind of Global Events.
There were about 300,000 people at the one
I attended.
I think they were intially set up to revisit the
Woodstock Gala.....
Woodstock occurred in the sixties
and featured bands like Jim Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young,
Joan Baez, Janice Joplin, etc etc.
About 500,000 people attended and it was held in the
North Eastern United States.
I was too young to attend but Woodstock certainly shaped that
generation.
I don't think the Us Festivals had the same impact but
they were sort of a tech and music festival where as Woodstock
was a peace, love, and music and I suppose drug thingy.
