Hey you guys, I am in the market for an LCD screen to use with my 15 inch TiBook. I would absolutely love to have a 20 inch Cinema Displaly, but don't have that kind of cash. I also don't wan't to give up the widescreen format that I've gotten used to. What I'm looking for is a stand-alone LCD similar to that of the old G4 17 inch iMac. Does such a thing exist?

Thanks for your help!

My bad, though I am correct, i was thinking along the lines of combo units. Dells site is layes out so poorly that it was the closest thing i could find after much searching, and who wouldn't want their widescreen lcd to do HDTV? I think its a great idea. THat dell is a crazy deal, i just wish it wasn't dell.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the replies. I don't know about you all, but I think Apple would do well to release a 17 inch widescreen. I was shoping around today at a local tech store, and was amazed at how terrible most lcd's are... every one I tested had plastic construction that was terribly difficult to adjust angle, or height. They were all creaky and very stiff while adjusting. They make the cinema displays look amazing, and well worth saving for.

100%. I agree, there is an ora about the cinema display that the other's can't have. If your at one now, you know what i'm talking about.

You would think it would be easy for them seeing that they could just use the 17' powerbook screens. All though I'm sure they could find something like it at a lower cost seeing that they could thicken it up a bit. 😛

So what if it's a dell... Buying a dell isn't immoral. I agree, that deal is awesome. It has everything or more that apple's display has, save the looks. If you don't like the dell logo, stick an apple logo on it. No biggie 🙂
