Is it worth buying now or are we expected 3 Ghz models at MWSF '05? Granted that is 2 months away so it may not matter as my current desktop is having problems.

I wouldn't expect CPU upgrades. However, i do think they'll move to the serial standard of PCI-express. They may also up the base ram config (sure as hell needs it) and other little things. I wouldn't expect too much. 3ghz is gonna be over 6 months away. I'd put money on it. A year ago I thought we'd have powerbook G5s and to this day it's still a dream. It's just a slow cycle when you're pinned to a CPU manufacturer that can't get it up
Next question then...what's the difference between the new dual 2 g5 and the old one? I know the new ones are using the 970fx processors but does that affect performance at all?
