Just ponied up last week and bought my first Imac only to discover after a couple days that it had the dreaded yellowing screen. Tonight I spent 2 hours backing everything up and reboxing it all. Drove an hour to the Apple store. Exchanged it for another Imac and after unboxing at home and setting it all up gues what.................same friggin yellowing screen. Guess this is a sign to wait for the new Imac upgrades or something because I am beyond pissed right now

Try a couple more times, explaining each time that it has been 2 times now, 3 times etc
Eventually you will end up with a working iMac or compensation for your wasted time.

I hear you.....been there.
What makes you think the upgrades will fix the screens? Don't you think Apple would just fix the screens as they go...silently?....if Apple knew how to fix them....which they dont...
Upgrades usually are minor stuff to the processor or or adding a port for whatever.
The iMac LED screen is what it is and updates wont fix it IMHO. Its not like Apple will release the new updated iMac and say "now with new technology we fixed the yellowing screens and added a ESATA port...."

It also doesnt make sense for them to update the iMac without a severe problem like that fixed.

Well at this point I can't keep taking time off work to drive computers back and forth. Its ridiculous. Certainly not helping this old school pc guy make a happy change to apple. I guess I will give it one more whirl.
Pardon if this has been addressed before but is it possible my store has a bad run from the assembly line and I am just plucking them up one by bad one? Should I request a different build date or something?

I would the make impression your next screen is going to be yellow.
Im surprised the Apple retail store replaced it and not just refunded your money and wished you on your merry way
All iMacs display have a slight color variability
Enjoy.

Color variability and a coffee stained monitor are two extremely different things. When they checked the first machine the apple employee was surprised at how bad it was. This one is even worse. I am actually thinking I will exchange this one and move into a MBP. Avoid I hope any yellowing and gain portability. I had high hopes for the Imac. I know so many have had great success and no issues and hoped I would fall into that group but its ok. I am not a sour grapes guy. I will stick with Mac because I love the overall feel. Lets hope my MBP experience renews that feeling.

This is exactly what I did. After 3 iMacs with bad screens, I gave up and got a 17" MBP, which has been perfect.
However, every now and then, I just wish I had tried one more time. That 27" screen was just awesome (aside from the yellow issue, of course), and, being my first laptop, it just doesn't seem as comfortable to use because you can't sit back and type.
Are you able to try another store, or order online?

When you drive back with this iMac you should ask them to try the replacement in store - verify that it isn't yellow, cannot see why this wouldn't work after two replacements.

I have not seen the iMac "yellow screen" feature but be aware of the different lighting they use in the store compared to your home. This can affect how things look depending on the amount of yellowing you see on the screen.
