As far as I can tell Splinter Cell runs on the Unreal Engine.

Does anyone here have any tweaks that will make the game run better. Overall on my setup it does well at 1024x768 with everything on the highest setting.

My main concern is to run in windowed mode, up some of the caches to suit a machine with higher memory, and reduce Mipmaping since usually it's unnecessarily high.

I looked at the SplinterCell.ini file and made some changes on a Copy of it and they did not seem to work since full screen is still on.

Suggestions?

Sorry for the bump, but any thoughts?

I've tried some of the UT2003 tweeks and found I still can't run windowed mode...

i dont' know any special tweaks... but i sure would like to know. :)

but why do you want to run it in windowed mode? i can understand that for a game like World Of Warcraft... but Splinter Cell?

On a 20" LCD running 1024x768 full screen looks blocky. Whereas if I ran it in a window at 1024x768 it would look much better, albeit smaller.

I just upped the rez to 1280x1024 and it still plays well. Only a few places wherre it lags...

ATi X800, where are you?
