Shrinking Photo's

ok - i searched the forum and didn't find anything...

here's my question:

if i wanted to take, say, 1000 pictures that were all 'large' and 'high quality' and make them 640/800 or whatever(maybe even smaller) and all around 50-100K -- is there a way to do it like really fast and automatically?

i realize i could just open up photoshop and do them one by one
do i have to?

is there a prgm that will do this for me?

even something more like GraphicConverter? - easier than that?
*might this be part of the "batch conversion" in graphic converter?

ideas?

if i were to do it w/ Photoshop what is the easiest way?

in Iphoto there is an 'export' option
which will let you take as many photos as you want and 'shrink' them

You could also write a script in Photoshop and do batch processing that way. But I think that iPhoto may be faster.... since photoshop is a dog sometimes.

Graphic Converter has a batch processing feature that works really well. You can resize, rotate, convert, do any number of things to your images. Plus, you should already have it.

Use Photoshop to record an action. This will be the quickest way. Look up using actions in PS in Google if you don't know how, its easy.

Well no- technically it wouldn't be the quickest- and as stated above- all these programs can do the same thing. Photoshop actually tends to be slower at it in my experience.
