People with Iphone 4 and beats solo HD help plz!

I just bought a pair of the solo HD headphones and I tried using the controltalk function on the iphone 4 but it doesn't work. I can't get the volume to go up nor down. Is there a step that I have to do for it to sync with the Iphone

lol i have the regular beat solo's. they work perfectly fine with my iP4.

i'm waiting for the solo's to break so i can use my geek squad warranty to upgrade to the HD's.

I have the White Beats Solo. They work perfectly fine for my iPhone 4, are you sure that they are plugged in all the way and that the headphone jack is clean?
