Hey all,

Sorry, I know this has probably been asked many times over, but I've heard Crucial recommended as the best place to purchase some RAM. Is this the general consensus around here? Thanks.

I have bought RAM from both Ramjet and OWC. Both equally great to me.

The last I bought was from OWC and they shipped me Samsung RAM.

I tend to use Edge's RAM for my Macs and I've yet to have a problem. I've heard alot of good things about Crucial, though.

the only ram i've found that match the imacs specs (4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB) is only a little chepaer then upgrading through apple.

i found when i look at imac ram on newegg it is at 1066mhz.

is there something i'm missing? or is it basically the same price to just upgrade through apple.

check out newegg.com and make sure it is the same type of memory as your iMac needs. No need to bother with "apple RAM" as Macs use the same type of RAM as PCs, they just brand it as apple to sell it for more. Personally, I bought some Crucial RAM for my MacBook, and I got an excellent price on it, especially for being a bigger brand.
