How to arrange icons on desktop

Hi Everybody,
How could i arrange the icons on the mac desktop? I know I can right click and arrange it by name and size. But how do I put an icon in the middle of the screen? (or somewhere else)

Just drag them wherever you want them.

Dragging them to the position you want them to be.
Just make sure you have deselected any of the options below Snap To Grid in the View Options (CMD+J).

Why do you want to?? I like 'em on the sides, so I can still have a good sized window on my wide screen, and still see the icons.
