I stopped by Best Buy today to buy StarCraft 2, and they had just received a shipment of Invisible Shield Bumpers. Best Buy will gives and installs them for free for all iPhone 4. The install job wasn't the best, but for free it was worth getting.

Interesting.

Any chance you could post a picture or two?

Wait..what?..

EDIT: called a diff store and the girl laughed at me when I suggested it. Trolololololololololololo

It was given for free, installed for free, for any iPhone 4. I'll post a picture when I get a chance. It is just strips that go along the side. The Best Buy got it in today.

i asked a friend that works at best buy, and he said, they are supposed to be doing something like this, but he said they did not start doing it yet.

Yes, we got them in today...They are FREE. Not 100% sure of the qualifications to get one, I assumed that you have to buy a Zagg? (no one knew) I'll ask more tomorrow if no one else on here knows.

I wouldn't mind getting one of these put on if it's all free, no strings attached. I don't really like the look of it on the phone, but I have a bumper so it wouldn't bother me all that much. It would just be some extra protection to help keep the steel from getting scratched by debris that gets under my bumper.

I'm going to best buy tomorrow and see what they say. Signal drop sucks.

Even for free that thing looks like crap (no offense)

Why does Best Buy insist on carrying the crappiest screen protector on the market?

Yeah the strips are not the most innovative solution. They're just little sticky strips that go around the phone, not really noticeable. So far they seem to help a little or I could be just imagining things

If the Apple bumper wasn't such a dust magnet then that would be the end-all be-all solution for me.

My BB didn't have them, so I went to the Zagg kiosk at the mall. Either the girl sucked horribly at her job or these things really are as bad as they seem, because not only does the strip BARELY cover the black seam, they look abysmal and my signal drop seems even worse. Going to get a refund.

The full body that I bought from BB didn't have the sides..who knows it could be them playing catch up but I'll go ahead and see about it tomorrow since others are getting theirs. I wouldn't mind putting it under my bumper to stop it from scratching the antenna for resell value down the line.

The ones currently sold at Best Buy are the Front only and Full Body. Full Body is basically just the front and back protection only. Zagg sells on their website yet another tier.. "Full Body Maximum Coverage" which is front, back and those side strips. You can also just order the side strips ("4FIX Band/Antenna Coverage"), which they are now touting as an effective "deathgrip" solution.

The title of this thread is a tad misleading. By bumpers I expect something rubbery or padded that offers a modicum of impact protection. These are just bits of sticky tape.

Apple makes the only "Bumper". It's an iPhone case.

When you say "Bumper" and you are not referring to Apple's iPhone 4 case, you are doing nothing but confusing people.

Just called them cases. It's fewer letters, anyway.

That looks like...well crap? Probably because it was installed by Best Buy. I prefer the matte sides made by Phantom Skinz that I use on my phone. Easy to install, doesn't feel sticky and tacky like the other shields and looks more like the matte type finish on the antenna.

Problem is none of these skins really do much for reception since they are all made of a conductive material.

Seems pointless. They look stupid and will peel off if you leave the phone naked. All of the edges will collect dust and come off as you handle the phone. Silly.

This is why you DON'T let the people at BB install for you. Doing it yourself takes all of 5 minutes and it'll look a lot better. I do suffer from death grip syndrome and these help a little bit with that. Previously, I'd lose 4 bars but with these on, I only lose 2-3

Not a huge gain but any bit will help.

You can get these for free if you bought the IP4 at BB OR are a RewardZone member. Don't need to purchase anything and you can just walk in and get one. You may have to show them your phone in case they don't believe you

I went to Best Buy yesterday and asked about this. The sales guy said that they are free only if you bought your iPhone at Best Buy.
