which local mail program is best?

I'm currently using Netscape mail for my local mail client (web mail sucks) and I pretty much use firefox or safari (which one is better anyway?) for a browser and want to quit using NS.
What local mail program do you use?
Is Mac/Apple mail good? Is Eudora still around? Any suggestions?

For your browser question I use Safari now that gmail has POP3 access becuase gmail didn't always work properly in Safari so I used Firefox.

I use the apple mail app becuase it is quick and simple.

I too would vote for Apple's Mail... It does everything I could want, much better then Entourage in my opinion.
