the day the music died, someone gave it up

I just met a girl that gave up music. I wonder if something happened to her? I don't know what it was about but I couldn't believe it She studied music and then went into science. I did the same thing but music is the most important thing in my life. Has anyone ever given up music?

wow! i could never give up music... i think of it as the soundtrack to life. I've given up specific kinds of music for a while, but never music as a whole.
