I dont know if this is normal or not - figured I would ask here - but the top portion of my iMac screen is pretty damn hot. I haven't ever noticed it (owned it for 5 months or so) until i went to adjust my monitor angle and grabbed the top left corner and was a bit surprised to say the least at how hot it was.

The heat seems to run along the entire top portion of the back panel - hottest being the left corner.
Its not causing blisters on my hand or anything but this is still HOT

Im no mac guru so I dont know what exactly is encased in there but its pretty warm.

It is normal. Aluminum really dissipates heat; the top will generally be very warm and even hot when the machine is under stress.

That's normal. The heat has to go somewhere and the entire back panel is one giant heatsink.

It can be a bit disconcerting, but the left left does get very very hot.

All perfectly normal though.
