Hi,

I've been looking for a stand that I can use for my iPad while at the office specifically for typing while the iPad is landscape at a slight angle.

I also want to be able to do this without removing my iPad's Grip.

Does anyone have any suggestions of such a stand at a reasonable cost.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Thanks for reading.

There are a number of possibilities out there; if youhaven't already, try a search of just this forum for the word "stand" and you'll turn up dozens of threads on the subject.

I use this one for viewing and typing on a daily basis. I like it very much for its six-position adjustability and its portability. It comes in black, white, or mint green.

(no affiliation to the seller other than the fact I purchased from him and had a good transaction--there are dozens of ones just like it on eBay)

I jokingly put this up as an alternative to a really beautiful, more expensive stand in another post.

IMO this is actually a good, functional, cheap & mostly theft proof stand for an open office enviorment where those thing are a concern & where they are not.

It ain't sexy. It ain't cool. But it comes in a 2 pack for $5.65. I got 4 total & have them in different places around the house so I can always have one at the ready. :D

I use this too. Very good for viewing, but questionable for typing -- too easy for the angle to shift with pressure.

This one's not too bad. I own it.

I liked the TwelveSouth Compass stand, but I think I am going to get the Griffin Loop stand.

Looks very good for typing.

I am sitting out on my deck right now with the iPad and the Gibson 3-wire stand that was mentioned above in post #3. I prop the iPad on it in either orientation for reading but when I want to type, I simply take the iPad and prop it against the bottom lip only, which elevates it to a good position for typing, the thing doesn't move out of position, and I can type merrily away.....

I, too, have those Gibson stands all over the house and IMHO they are far more useful for the money than the fancier and far more expensive ones that are being sold specifically for the iPad. When I get through typing, I will stick the iPad back on the stand in either portrait or landscape orientation and keep on reading......

Forgot to mention that I do this with the Belkin Clear Vue on or even with the iPad naked, which is how I usually use her at home.

I'm thinking of just using the inexpensive (lol) combination of my iPhone 4 and wallet when I go to class this semester. :P

I do have one of these as well, but I find it too flimsy for typing. Propping it with just the lower lip doesn't raise it enough to be at a comfortable angle for typing in my opinion. Stretching/extending the legs and back support to a better angle leaves the stand somewhat wobbly vs the weight of the iPad.

I use it for reading in the bath all the time with my Kindle in a waterproof case, and it's plenty stable for that!
