Hi.

I will get and refurb. 27" i5 with the 4850.

How good is that for gaming?

I want to play games like :

-Call of Duty Modern Warfare
-Mass Effect 1 & 2
-Assassin's Creed
-Team Fortress 2
-Starcraft 2

...

What can you say?

4850 was a very good card in it's day (a year or so ago) and it's still in the class 1 category as far as I'm aware. You will be able to play all those games on mostly maxed setting comfortably in 1920x1080 I think. Not too sure about native res. I think if the 4850 has 1gig of vram native res would be quite possible.

I know it's not the newest game anymore, but I have the i5 w/ 4850 and I was able to run Fallout 3 in 2560x1440 on Ultra settings with 4X AA perfectly fine.

I don't think the new one on the i7 performs much better, just a bit. As of what I've read it only consumes a bit less.
