What would be a handy program to do this?
In the past I've used Irfanview in Windows to convert hundrereds of images to specific resolutions.

Graphic Converter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/en/graphcon.htm) will do it. It's free to try, and only $35 to buy. Choose "File->Convert & Modify..." and that will let you select image folders and then choose what you want to do to the images (for example, convert them to 1024x768 or whatever).

Thanks alot.
This program doesn't seem to have the ability to shrink the images in percentages? It would be handy because some of the photos are shot vertically while most are horizontally so a fixed size doesn't work if the pics are all mixed up.
edit:
seems like the max size converter has "invert dimensions for vertical images" -option but the program says batch conversion is only available in the registered version

Go to Picture > Size >Scale.... From the dialog box, you may scale your image using the Dimension: selections. You may select Percent or Pixel from the pop-up menu next to Width and Height.
