Ha! It lagged badly enough on my DSL. Although I have a suspicion that it was the server's fault, too many people playing. I'd hate to see them with the additional load of the retail release

The problem was serverside and not on the connections, as far as I could tell, since I could lag horribly with an 80-120ms latency. However, my understanding is that Blizzard wasn't using their full server capacity for the beta and was conducting a final stress test of a partial setup to see what happened. If that's the case and they open up the entire server farm on Tuesday, I don't see why it would continue to be an issue.

In other words, I barely meet the requirement on my 1 year, 1 month old Powerbook. Greeeaat. Does anyone have any experience playing this game on a 12" 1Ghz Powerbook?

I already have my copy reserved, I'll be at EB Games at 9AM to pick it up. Have a PC to play it on, and will play on the Mac when I'm on the road. Though, it's times like these I wish I had the 1.5GHz 15" with the 128MB Mobility Radeon 9700 instead of what I have, but it still runs acceptably.

Very early on in the beta, someone tested on a 400mhz machine.
It does run, but objects then only apear when they are closer to you and some animations (water) look weird.

I think that if you make sure you have a good video card you can have lower cpu speed.

I played Open Beta on a 17" PB 128vram 512mb ram.

And the so called lag, had nothing todo with the connection, but the item que database which was overloaded on purpouse to smooth out the code server side. In the last 5 days I had absolutly no delay on the pick up of items.

Anyone who followed blizzards track record? Thanks for bumping a 4 year old thread.
