If you were waiting to buy the new iMac on Amazon, three of the new models are available now. I'm not buying through this channel but have seen others discussing it...

Base 21.5" 3.06GHz Intel Core i3 (http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iMac-MC508LL-21-5-Inch-Desktop/dp/B002QQ8IO6)
High End 21.5" 3.2GHz Intel Core i3 (http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iMac-MC509LL-21-5-Inch-Desktop/dp/B00361EZUQ)
Base 27" 3.2GHz Intel Core i3 (http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iMac-MC510LL-27-Inch-Desktop/dp/B00361EZX8)

This one show unavailable still:
High End 27" 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core (http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iMac-MC511LL-27-Inch-Desktop/dp/B00361EZXS/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1280789989&sr=1-1)

EDIT - as mentioned, you may get the benefit of tax saving depending on where you live. And of course, savigs of $6!!
EDIT 2 - Adding MacConnection as another option that is even cheaper:

What is the $100 discount? Can't count no tax twice.

Can't beat Amazon. New iMac came out on Tuesday and they had them listed on Amazon by late Thursday. I ordered and got delivery before noon on Saturday. Got the 27" i3.

No shipping, no sales tax, and 3% back on my Amazon VISA card.

If Amazon would have "Prime"d it (and had they offered the 27" i7 + free iPod + free Printer + $200 off [edu]), I would have totally bought from them. Free 2nd day? $4 overnight delivery? I bought from the Apple online store 9/7. Day 3... "Prepared for Shipment"... 6 days left.
